Delicate instrumental-textures, a poetic story and secrets of the forest masterfully capture and aptly describe Engelbert Humperdinck's fairy tale opera "Hansel & Gretel". Composed in 1890, it was first performed by Richard Strauss. The opera soon after received performances on more than 50 German stages and was subsequently translated into over 70 languages - an unparalleled victory.
Martin Haselböck presented this masterpiece within the magical forest-ambience of the Reinsberg Burgarena in Lower Austria in the summer of 2009
